PHYSICS

Fun With Physics

Physics... It's really quite sad that so many people don't understand it. But with a little help, you too may be able to understand what physics is, and you might even be able to do physics by yourself!

Here's something to think about...

Have you ever thrown a baseball to your friend while practicing baseball? Or have you ever played hopscotch with a friend, or by yourself. Or have you ever skipped stones? These are all examples of physics! Whenever you do anthing, the laws of physics are in motion. Physics affect everything! Even if you're not aware of it, you're making adjustments for factors such as, distance, wind, and even the weight of the baseball! If you're friend is far away from you, you'll throw the ball harder than when they're not very far from you. These physical adjustments are done in youre head. So by throwing the baseball to your friend, or skipping stones, you're automatically doing physics in your head! But, it's really not called that because it just comes so naturally to people.

Formulas and laws exist that can calculate the distance the baseball will travel based on your throw. You probably don't know what the formulas are, but you can still throw the ball without knowing them. It's something that can be learned by practicing how to throw the baseball, or the stones. If no set laws exist, the baseball, or stones, would be unpredictable whenever, and wherever you throw it. How could you adjust your throw?

If you would like to read more helpful items about physics...

This beginner section will try to explain why things behave the way they do without bothering you with all the formulas and all the funny Greek letters that make physics a little more confusing than it really should be. Remember, you didn't need a formula to know how hard to throw that ball. http://library.thinkquest.org/16600/beginner/
